So, at the end of the show today, Mike called and asked, "WHAT is a Honey Boo Boo?"

It's love or hate.  Either way, it seems like everyone is talking about and facebooking about Honey Boo Boo.  She is the young Georgia girl first featured with her mother on TLC's "Toddlers and Tiaras".

Many folks found her costumes and routines on that show inappropriate for a 6-year old.  Other folks loved Honey Boo Boo's personality and her catchphrase, "A dolla makes me holla."

TLC saw a ratings opportunity and offered the family their own show.  So, now we have "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo".  Many critics suggest the new show mocks small-town Southern life.

But wait, there's more!  TLC just announced that Honey Boo Boo will be taking over TV screens for the holidays.  The network has ordered Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas specials focusing on its seven-year-old breakout star, Alana "Honey Boo Boo" Thompson.  The series aired the 10th and final episode of its debut season on Wednesday.

TLC has also ordered additional episodes of the series to air next spring.

I have not watched and do not plan to watch this show.  I saw enough on "Toddlers and Tiaras".  Yes, the family is making money.  I, however, think it's to the detriment of Alana.  She's only 7.  She doesn't understand how this will most likely negatively affect her emotional growth over the years.

PS:  The pic is from a talk show that had several of the "Toddlers and Tiaras" parents dress the same as they dress their children for the pageants, to see how it made the parents feel.
