Hello!
I came across the article below while preparing for today's show. It's a list of parents' top 20 regrets. I can tell you that before I had Isabella 5 years ago, I thought I'd have no problem being a working mom. Last year, I was laid-off from my previous radio job. I LOVED being able to be more involved with my little girl's life and not being so tired when I picked her up from school in the afternoon. Unfortunately, two incomes are necessary for our family to get through these tough times. At least I've found a job I like, working here with Bill on WTKS. And, the hours allow me to pick-up Isabella as soon as school is over. I'm tired again in the afternoon, but at least it's me with her and not somebody else raising her after school hours. That being said, my biggest regret is #1.
What's your biggest regret as a parent? Where does it place on the list?
TOP 20 PARENT REGRETS: Parents say that working too hard and worrying too much about things that didn't really matter were at the top of their lists of regrets when it came to their children. Not playing with their child more often, not taking enough photos and waiting too long before teaching them to swim were also high up according to the poll of 2,000 parents. Seven out of ten admitted they took their kid's childhood for granted, with more than two thirds saying it is easy to forget they won't be young forever.
